Melba Jean Walker

Melba Jean Walker, 89, of Columbus, GA passed Friday, May 7, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2021 at Striffler Hamby with Dr. Kevin Calhoun officiating. Visitation for friends will be held Sunday, May 9, 2021 from 3:00-5:00pm.

Melba Jean was born January 1, 1932 in Ryan, AL, the daughter of the late Mat Stonic and Martha Davis. She was a member of Hilton Terrance Baptist Church. She worked for the City of Columbus for many years before retiring. She enjoyed gardening and playing basketball in the past for the Industrial League in Columbus.

Survivors include one daughter, Gail McCard; two grandchildren, Dustin Harrelson (Heather) and Courtney Harrelson; three great grandchildren, Kadence, Emily and Gunner; one sister, Antonia Elizabeth Aday. Melba Jean leaves behind many extended family and friends.
