Mary Sue Griffin, 90, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021. A graveside service will be held at 3:00PM on, Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Parkhill Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Speer and Rev. Mickey Adams officiating.
Sue was born on February 7, 1931, in Columbus, Georgia to the late William Malon, and Rosa Mae Summerlin. She graduated from Jordan High School in 1948. Sue then went on to marry the love of her life, Arthur G. Griffin, then spent 53 cherished years together before his passing. She worked as an insurance clerk at the Medical Center in Columbus and for Dr. Bruce Newsome before retiring. Mrs. Griffin loved the beach and spending time with her family. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, William and Rosa Mae Summerlin; her husband, Arthur G. Griffin; granddaughter, Carol Ann Wise; sister, Faye Fincher; brother, Harris Summerlin.
Those left to cherish her memories are her three daughters who considered her their best friend and their confidante, Suellyn Cashia, Laura C. Wise (Norman), and Lou Ann Starling (Mark); one grandson, Neil Aaron Wise; one great granddaughter, Kiera Paige Wise, cherished nieces Bobbi, Beverly, Mary Joyce and Susan, and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted or you can make charitable donations in Sue’s honor to Columbus Hospice House at 7020 Moon Road, Columbus, GA 31909.
