Margot Christel (Würdemann) Dukes, age 95, of Midland, GA, formerly of Columbus, GA passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born December 25, 1928 in Kolberg, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Hinrich and Minna Martha Maria (Kiewaldt) Würdemann. She will be fondly remembered for her abundant compassion. She loved her family dearly and cherished being a wife, mother, and grandmother.
Margot was a member of the Glen Arden Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She served faithfully for more than 40 years. She was baptized the same day with her husband on October 23, 1982. She strived to live a Christ-like life, always compassionate and kind, always willing to help others. She loved conducting bible studies, entertaining company as a hostess, and gardening (especially roses and African violets). She also enjoyed playing Scrabble with family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Margie Dukes, Michael (Denise) Dukes, Randolph (Sandra) Dukes; and her 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Margot was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis D. Dukes and by her sister, Erika Rotschky.
A Service Remembering Margot’s Life will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Edgewood Hall, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 on Friday, July 26, 2024 at 10:00AM and burial to follow at Parkhill Cemetery.
Visitation with family and friends will be held at Striffler-Hamby, Edgewood Hall on Thursday evening, July 25, 2024 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM.
