Lynn Cherie (Tomlinson) Harris was born on April 17, 1955, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia to Wade H. and Fran McCrimmon Tomlinson. Lynn attended Clubview Elementary School, Richards Middle School and was a 1973 graduate of Hardaway High School in Columbus, Georgia. Lynn also attended the University of Georgia. Lynn worked for Burnham Van Service for twenty-five years in its regulatory department where she met and married her beloved husband Jon Nelson Harris. She and Jon were the loving owners of pets Cassie, Max and Bella to name but a few who held their hearts. Lynn and Jon enjoyed seaside stays in Los Cabos, Mexico, scenic route motorcycling and camping. Lynn took with her joyous memories of New Orleans Jazz Fest trips, Alaskan excursions, living in an old farmhouse on Biggers Road and “legendary” Halloween, Christmas Day, and New Years Eve parties. She was predeceased by her husband Jon Nelson Harris, father Wade H. Tomlinson, Jr. and stepfather Colvo (“Tony”) Miller. She is survived by her mother Fran McCrimmon Miller of Columbus, Georgia, brother Wade H. (“Trip”) Tomlinson (Teresa) of Columbus, Georgia, stepbrother Lt. Col. (ret.) Ronald Miller (Dianne) of Columbus, Georgia, stepsister Jean Miller Huseman (Bill) of Gulf Shores, Alabama, her step-granddaughter Taylor Whit (Matthew) and step-great granddaughter Whitley of Havelock, North Carolina, step-grandson Justice Cauley of Seattle, Washington, and former husband and friend John W Woodward of Tate City, Georgia.
A celebration of life memorial service for Lynn will be held Monday, October 7, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Striffler Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907.
