Services for Louise Pinter will be held at 2:00 Monday, April 1, 2024 in Parkhill Cemetery with Reverend Reg Hall officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior at Striffler Hamby Mortuary.
Louise was the daughter of the late Margaret and Jimmy Fuller of Columbus, GA. She was born August 29, 1944 in Durham, NC. She grew up in Columbus, attended St. Elmo School and graduated salutatorian Columbus High School Class of 1962. Her post graduate studies included a degree in mathematics from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with honors and a Master’s Degree in Statistics from the University of Georgia.
Louise was a classically trained cellist and sat first chair in the Columbus Symphony Orchestra before beginning her professional career.
Prior to returning to Columbus to raise her family, Louise met her husband, the late Vance Pinter in Galveston, TX while working at IBM. They were married almost 50 years and had three children.
While in Columbus, she was also active in many organizations to include: Rotary International of Columbus, Oglethorpe Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, Columbus Chapter Colonial Dames XVII Century, Golden Girls Investment Club, Columbus Student’s Club, and Wynn House Board. She was a member of Wynnton United Methodist Church.
Louise is survived by her daughter; Peggy, her son; Jamie, Peggy’s children; Xander and Greta who brought her the most joy in her later years, her brother; Jim Fuller (Helen) in addition to many nieces, nephews and extended family. She is preceded in death by her husband; Vance Pinter, her parents, and her sister; Peggy Andrews.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to a charity of your choice in Louise's name.
