Linda was born in San Antonio, Texas on July 18,1951, to Marguerite (Phifer) and Hubert W. Dye. Her family settled in Columbus, Georgia after her father’s retirement from the Army. She attended Hardaway High School. On February 3, 1968 she married the love of her life, the late William Roland “Bill” Lee. He was known to her as “Bud”. They shared 55 years of marriage together. Together they called the Columbus area home until they, along with the rest of the family, built the home of their dreams in the Box Springs Community. She enjoyed cooking, being outdoors gardening, and driving her tractor to maintain the property. She enjoyed time spent with her family most of all. Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandma, and great grandma who never met a stranger and always took care of those around her. When you visited her you better have an appetite because she was going to make sure you ate something. She was full of compassion and when you met her you learned that a simple hello and a handshake would not due, she would hug everyone she met. Always putting others before herself, she was a loyal and faithful servant of God. She was Baptist by faith and lived her life by example of her faith. She will be missed by many and not a day will go by that she will not be thought of or longed for by those who greatly loved her.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents and younger sister Patti Moody. Surviving sisters Mary Norman (David), and Dee Dee Drury. She leaves her loving memory to be cherished by her children: Sandra K. Lee, William R. Lee II, Jennifer L. Lee, Christopher J. Lee (Chas), Kimberly G. Lee and Kerry M. Carter; her very adored grandchildren: Hunter Lee, Madison Lee, Mackenzie Lee, and Kaylee Carter; and her very adored great-granddaughter, Madalynn Lee. She leaves behind her loving Yorkie, Penny, who was her devoted support dog.
