Kathryn Anne Reynolds (Kate) passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on December 27 at the age of 78. Kate is predeceased by her father and mother George and Louise Reynolds, and her sister Margaret Reynolds.
Kate was a wonderful mother. Her devotion to her family was evident in how she created family traditions including holiday rituals and beautiful meals. Kate was creative and enjoyed sewing clothing and home décor, making many a curtain and decorative pillow for the girls’ rooms. She was also an enthusiastic learner and enjoyed sharing her interests with her family.
Kate had a lifelong interest in history and was able to travel in her younger years throughout Europe and Africa, visiting historic sites and sharing her love of history with her four daughters. She wrote detailed letters of her trips and created elaborate brass rubbings. In her later years, although not able to travel, she continued her enjoyment of history through books, magazines, and verbal recollections.
Kate was committed to her faith where she drew strength, courage, and peace as she struggled with her illness in later years.
She is survived by her four daughters Elizabeth Cook (Kristopher), Suzanna Jacob (Dave), Cynthia Johns (Kirk), and Sheila Peeler (Mark); her grandchildren Sarah Johns, Caroline Jacob, Ethan Cook, and Julian Peeler; her sister Patricia Vizzone; her two brothers John and Joseph Reynolds; and her former husband Colonel Edward Santa.
Funeral and Mass will be held 11:30 AM Monday January 21, 2019 at Saint Anne Catholic Church in Columbus, GA, where she was a member.
