Joyce "Gloria" Wright Linker

Joyce “Gloria” Wright Linker, 79, of Columbus, Georgia died on December 18, 2024. She was born on February 27, 1945 to the late Lorene Owens Wright and Felix Wright. She married the love of her life Charles “Charlie” Linker and together they called Columbus home. They were married for 58 loving years until Charlie’s death in 2018. Gloria was a loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt who loved her family dearly. Her greatest joy was her son, William Edward Linker, Bill as he was known to all who loved him. Bill was her pride and joy. Gloria was known for her entertaining of family and friends, but she was well known for her expertise in cooking. She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting. Gloria loved to share crochet blankets and other crochet items with family and friends. Gloria was Methodist by faith and loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, it was a value she shared with everyone. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and especially loved her.

Gloria’s loving memory will be cherished by her sister: Jewel Miller Massey; her son: Sammie Bridges; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Lorene and Felix Wright; her loving husband Charlie and her beloved son, Bill; also by her brothers: Bobby Joe Wright, Felix "Pete" Wright, and Jesse Phillips "Bunk" Wright.

A visitation for family and friends for Gloria will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907. Following the visitation for family and friends will be a graveside service at 2:00 PM in Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907.
