Horace Edwin Carden, age 85, of Columbus, Georgia passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018 in hospice care. He was born January 26, 1933, the son of the late Robert Lester Carden and Margaret Youngblood Carden in Phenix City, Alabama.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018 in Parkhill Cemetery at 11AM. Family will gather and receive friends on Friday, November 9, 2018 in the St. Elmo room of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in Columbus, GA from 5-7 PM.
Mr. Carden served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and later in life became a truck driver. With such great work ethic and dedication, he worked with the same company until he was 74 years old; never missing work and always staying busy. During his time off he enjoyed watching NASCAR, going out on the boat, country music dancing, Western TV programs such as Gunsmoke and working on cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Jeffrey Carden and Eddie Carden. He is survived by three sons, Larry Carden, Ronnie Carden and Dennis Carden; six grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He also leaves other relatives and friends to cherish his memory.
