His family will receive friends on Thursday August 25, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Wildwood Room of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, Georgia. A service to celebrate Earnest’s life will be held in the Chapel of Pines Mausoleum in Parkhill Cemetery on Friday, August 26, 2022 at 1:00 PM with Reverend Mike Reeves officiating.
Earnest was born in Newport, Tennessee on July 30, 1956 to the late Carter M. Parks and Helen Hakleroad Parks. He was married to the late Jean Lane Parks. They cherished each other. Earnest was Christian by faith and shared his faith and Jesus Christ with everyone he met. He was a gentle, kind, and loving man that would give his shirt off his back if he knew it would help. Earnest enjoyed woodworking and planting and growing things in his yard. He worked for Pratt-Whitney for many years. Earnest made many friends while he was at Pratt-Whitney. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and especially loved him.
He is survived by his sisters: Grace Crisp (Mel Davis), Helen Parks, and Margaret Rathbone; brother James “Jimmy” Parks; daughters, Arbie Parks Webb (Donnie) and Janah Parks; sister-in-law Mary Ball; nieces: Laura Payne (Mark), Cindy Parks, and Wendy Brown (Jerry); nephews: Chris Price (Jessica) Mathew Miller (Michelle) and Jamie Parks; and numerous other nieces, nephews and family members.
