Donna Lee Barker, age 51, of Midland, Georgia passed away at her home on Saturday, October 27, 2018 with her husband by her side after a long battle with cancer. She was born on April 11, 1967 in Columbus, Georgia the daughter of Donald Edward Basiliere Jr. and Patsy Ruth Elliot Basiliere.
A native of Columbus, GA, Donna attended Kendrick High School and studied music at Columbus State University. She married Fred Barker Jr. in November of 1999, at Our Lady of Lourdes in Columbus, Georgia.
Donna will be forever remembered by her husband and best friend Fred; her mother Patsy; her two sisters, Cheryl and her husband Al, and Melody and her husband Tony. She will also be lovingly remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
Donna was very devoted to family and friends and had a huge heart when it came others. She loved so many people and touched a lot of people’s lives, especially during her career at Columbus Regional. She loved family vacations, reading, and Sunday Dinners and 80’s music. Al's work stories and corny movies never failed to make her laugh and she always encouraged her loved ones to have expectations and that it’s ok to voice your opinion.
A visitation of family and friends, will be held in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in Columbus, Georgia on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Donna’s funeral service, including a recitation of the rosary, will be held in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary at 3:00 PM on Thursday, November, 1, 2018. This will be followed by a committal service at Evergreen Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers will be: Al Aviles; Mason Aviles; Daniel McCarthy III; Daniel McCarthy IV; Logan Rodriquez and Tony Sellers. The Barker family is eternally grateful for the many expressions of sympathy and support during this time of bereavement.
