Bobby "Bob" Eugene Carmichael

Bobby “Bob” Eugene Carmichael, 85, of Fortson, Georgia passed away on December 23, 2022. He was born in Blakely, Georgia on November 3, 1937 to the late Glenville E. “Buddy” and Noma Rabon Carmichael.

Bob was a hardworking, fun-loving man who provided well for his family. He was married to Audrey Dell Jernigan and together they called Fortson, Georgia home. Bob worked for many years as a Snap-On Tools salesman. He was the first Snap-On Truck rep. in the Columbus, Georgia area with a full-sized truck. When Bob wasn’t working, he enjoyed his garden, driving his tractor and planting a variety of vegetables, that he shared with family and friends. He loved being in the great outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his children: Donald Carmichael (Laurie) and Robin Higgins (Mike); his grandchildren: Alex Higgins (Cassie), Kayla Carmichael, and Samantha Hepworth (Seth); his great grandchildren: Aiden Higgins, Julia Higgins, and Savannah Hepworth; and numerous other family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, his grandson Tyler Higgins, and three siblings.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. A procession will follow into Parkhill Cemetery with a graveside service at 3:00 PM.
