A visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, November 20, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM. A private graveside service will be in Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia with Reverend Ed Kvietkus officiating according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA.
Betty was born in Honea Path, SC to the late Holley Thomas Leverette and Mary Thompson Leverette. A resident of Columbus, Betty was employed with SunTrust Bank where she retired as a Loan Officer. Throughout her life, her love for the Lord, and her faith were a true testament. Betty was an active member of Rosehill Baptist Church. She loved taking care of her family and enjoyed serving others whether it be volunteering at the church or working at Dr.'s Hospital in the Gift Shop where she made numerous friends throughout her life. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edwin Washington Sr. a brother Tommy Leverette and a sister, Mary Ruth Rouda.
Survivors include her three children, Ed Washington (Mickie) of Columbus, GA., Holly Carver (Carroll) Greenville, SC and David Washington of Columbus, GA, three grandchildren, Chandler Simpson (Davis), Leah Qualkinbush (William) and Shea Masterson (Josh) and two great grandchildren, Charlie Simpson and Sam Masterson.
