Hī Tom, I just learned of your passing when I was visiting my parents in Columbia this past December .  We shared some great laughs over the years and you were an amazing person. May you rest in peace in friend.

First and Foremost,  I would like to send my HEARTFELT PRAYERS, THOUGHTS, AND CONDOLENCES to the FAMILY AND FRIENDS of "MR. THONG MINH VO". I just found out this truly devastating,  (to say the least) sad news of his sudden passing yesterday, when I stopped by "THONG'S workplace to get my jewelry repaired, as I had been doing for over 25 plus years. (I trusted "NO ONE" but him and his co-workers/work family with my jewelry!!!!)He was TRULY a "BEAUTIFUL, LOVING, AND SWEET SOUL"!!!I will TRULY miss your "WONDERFUL, SWEET SPIRIT" that "YOU" ALWAYS presented to me and ALL of us that knew and LOVED "YOU" from the jewelry store.  It will not be the same without "YOU" greeting me with your SMILE,  GENUINE CARING, YOUR GENEROSITY, and EXPERTISE in whatever I needed taken care of that day. I’ve been friend with Tom ever since I came to the United States back in 1982.   I was FOB (fresh off the boat) when I started my high school year at AC Flora,  Tom took me under his wings, taking care of me in classes.  He’s like a big brother to me!!

Tom is one of the best cook I ever met, he served me good food at his house every time I come visit, He will make sure my belly is full, of course, I go there all the time just for his food!  Ha!!  

He will be missed,  We will never forget about you!  Rest In Peace !

I'm dì Thanh, mợ Bảy's younger sister. Here in France, we're all shook up and very sad when learning the way you're leaving us.
As far as I remember when I went to Vinh Long to visit your family, I still have vivid in my mind a slender and cheerful young guy. All the tributes I read about you match perfectly with this image of the sweet caring gentleman you were.  You're now in that place that's filled with love, up up above among your loved ones Dad, Mum and the ancestors. So to accompany your trip to the other side  in peace and serenity, as well as in order help us to soothe our pain, Dì Hằng, Anh, Quyên, Loan, Chinh and cậu Hoàng, and your cousins Tou, Tòi, Gió, Dí, will join to our prayers this beautiful song entitled "Memories" (Maroon 5 Adam Levine).

Anh Thông, I never had the chance to meet you, but I’ve heard of many wonderful memories of you from my mom (your Di 9) and Anh Hoang. I met Di Ba, Anh Hoang and Anh Thieu when I was 7 years old. I wish that I had the chance to meet you when our family reunites. I am proud that my family from Vinh Long shares a bond that can be felt across the world and between the states. Thank you for being such a loving presence in my mom’s life and for also being one in my life for the short time we got to spend together so many years ago. I was very young when we met, but I remember feeling so loved by someone who had just met me. When we last spoke on the phone a few years ago, you pulled up the letter 10-year old me had written to you to express how much I loved you and how much fun I had when you came to visit. I couldn’t believe that you kept that letter and I felt so touched by how you held onto the memories of our time together. When we met, you were only a few years older than I am today and I can only hope that I can have a loving and lasting impact on my nieces and nephews as you had on me. I regret not reconnecting with you sooner and I was so looking forward to us enjoying time together as a family on the East Coast sometime soon. I wish that we could all be together to celebrate you and tell stories about you, but I know that we will do that even though we are all over the country. You should know that you are loved dearly.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear of your passing.  Do you know that everyone enters your life for a reason? I believe that to be true.  Each person that I have crossed their paths has contributed to who I am in some way, shape, or form, and for that I am grateful. Now, everything seems rather different. I don’t see that red car anymore, or that friendly person with that “hairdo” of theirs. Everything happened so quick, and things seemed surreal to me the first few days. Maybe I just couldn’t really accept the fact that you’re no longer alive. To be honest, everything- just- happened faster than I knew it. I took it pretty hard, and others have too. I’ve been given tips on how to cope with my feelings, and I’m slowly making my way up. Not everything is easy, but it doesn’t mean they’re impossible. 
I still do what you would want me to do, studying hard and getting good grades for a bright future. Viktor does the same thing, although school never fails to bore him. My mother is feeling better now, and so is my father, although it took a while. Uncle Long and Uncle Tony help us too, and it’s good to have such a supportive family. You won’t be forgotten, because you hold a place in our hearts. Cliche, yes, but true. 
Well, again, I hope you are having a nice time up in heaven, and please take good care of Ba Noi. The stories you told about her tell me that she needs someone to look out for her, and you’ll be the best person to do so. We’ll be okay without you, so there’s no need to worry for the likes of us. Now, have a good, peaceful afterlife.

Hello, Uncle Tom,

I hope you are doing well up there with Ba Noi, and I’m sure all of us miss you. If you’re wondering how I’m doing, you could say I’m doing okay. Viktor is still being himself, still notorious for stirring trouble whenever he can. Ah, speak of the devil, right? Although I can’t see you, I’m sure you’re probably smiling a bit at this, since it’s not hard to make you grin or laugh. We’re, as in Viktor and I, are doing alright with school. After all, we won’t be successful without education. 
I remember how you would visit us every month, the red car seen parked up on the long, windy driveway. Viktor would be the first to open the back door and yell his lungs out at you, and I’d just look at him, so “ashamed.” You would step out of the car and bring bags with you, along with other items for the family. You were very generous, I’d have to say, and my brother probably took it for granted. Perhaps I did too, I admit. You had so much to give. When you arrived, you didn’t have to take one single step into the house before feeling my brother’s wrath. I’d always pity you for it, but you’d simply brush it away and joke, “I’ll be free in a couple of days.” You’d have to put up with Viktor for all the crazy things he did, from messing with your once well-groomed hair to constantly hitting you for no valid reason. Honestly, I envied your laid-back personality. How were you able to tolerate it? Eventually, you would have to leave, but then you’d come back in the next month or two with the same red car, always arriving with gifts and such. I recall how you told me that you’d visit us every time you had the chance too, every single vacation. You never spent them partying with others, but instead spending time with the family. Cliche, but you were a great uncle, and I’m certain it’s a fact. You were such a selfless person with a kind-heart, and you cared about us.


Hi Bac Tam its me Viktor I miss you a lot.  when we eat breakfast/Lunch/Dinner I always eat next to you. Even when your gone I will still sit next to you. I always go on you shoulder but now I cant because your gone. What I like the most is spending time with you even when your gone I will still have fun with you. I like to play shopping and going on your shoulder with you. I hope you see you best freind Debbi and hope you also see ba noi and the others. Hi Bac Tam it’s me Viktor I miss you so much and your best friend Debbi is up there and the others. Almost everyone cried because we heard that you died. When we would eat breakfast, lunch and dinner .  I would always want to sit next to you and let you know when it’s time to eat. Everyone gave you respect.   I was so happy because they gave you respect.  I would always go on your shoulders but now I can’t because you died.  I was so sad I hope you take care of Ba Noi and Ong Noi up there and take care of yourself . I wish you were here to eat play go shopping and ride on your shoulders. Every day I would sit with you because I miss you. I know you can see me but I can’t even I can’t see you we are still family and never forget even we do I will always miss you. What I like the most with you was spending time with you playing shopping going on you shoulders. I miss you and I hope you are having fun with your family and your friend.  I like it when you spend time with us even when your gone.

Em cảm ơn anh nhiều lắm rất là nhiều , anh là một người anh chồng rất thương và lo lắng cho em , kể từ khi má qua đời anh là người gần gũi với em và tụi nhỏ ,bay gio em chỉ còn chị Mai để nói chuyện tâm sự với nhau ,  anh thường nói mình hãy thương và lo lắng cho nhau khi còn sống chứ để mất rồi có nói hay làm cũng không thể nào biết được ! Em rất là may mắn khi làm đứa em dâu của anh và con dâu của gia đình ! Thật đáng tiếc khi anh không còn nữa để lên chơi với tụi em , nấu cho anh ăn những món ăn anh thích , Cười giỡn với anh ! Giờ đây chỉ là kỉ niệm , em không thể làm gì khác chỉ biết là chấp nhận sự thật đau buồn này ! Anh Thông ra đi thanh thản về thới giới bên kia  Và anh hãy phù hộ cho 2 đua cháu của anh nhe ! Hi Anh Thong, I just can not believed that you left us so fast. I’m so glad that I was able to talked with you on the day you left us. I was looking forward to move you in our home and live with us. 😔 The kids missed you a lot especially your boy Viktor. 😁 every day he sat next to your picture and talked with you and asked you to come back and eat with him. Now he has nobody to piggyback ride with him except Anh Truyen but he is not gentle like you. 😁 Brother, you don’t have to worry about us. We will be ok. Anh Truyen was so happy to moved back here so we can live together as a family. Anh Truyen was blessing to be able spent last couple months with you. He has so much respect for you when you talked to him about family. Family is always come first and always share love with each others. I wanted to thank you Anh for taking a good care of me since the days I came to America. You and Anh Truyen always helped your family here and Vietnam even though you guys didn’t have a lot of money. This is why I loved you so much. I m so blessing and lucky to have you in my life. I will looking forward from now on and never look back like you told me.
