COLUMBIA - Sue Osborne Myers, 67, of Columbia, died December 27, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Myers was born in Charlotte, N.C. on January 11, 1947 and raised in Columbia. She attended Brennen Elementary, Crayton Middle School, A.C. Flora High School and was a 1969 graduate of Presbyterian College. After graduation, she worked as a legislative clerk for several years then retired after 25 years of teaching at Meadowfield Elementary in Richland District 1. Mrs. Myers was a former member of the Junior League of Columbia. She loved her family, friends and nature; always wanting to take care of everyone. Her passions were environmental work and Wounded Warriors. Mrs. Myers is survived by her husband of 25 years, Alden Richardson of Columbia; mother, Margaret Osborne Myers Pitts of Columbia; brother, John S. “Jack” Myers, Jr. and his wife, Patsy of Columbia; niece, Kathryn M. Stutt (Sam) of Lexington; nephew, John S. Myers, III of Columbia; great nephews, Dylan Huff and Jack Huff of Lexington; stepsons, Dean Richardson of Columbia and Noah Richardson (Caroline) of Columbia. She is also survived by her step-sisters, Becky Cheatham (Richard) of Columbia and Nancy Johnson (Van) of Massachusetts; step-brother, Ikey Pitts (Michelle) of Camden; and many other cousins, step-nieces and nephews. Mrs. Myers was predeceased by her father, John S. Myers; sister, Margaret H. Myers; step-father, Isaac P. “Jolly” Pitts; and step-brother, Doug Pitts. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday December 31, 2014 at St. Martin's-in-the-Fields Episcopal Church with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2014 from 6 until 8:00 p.m. at the home of Jack Myers, 1519 Kathwood Dr. Columbia.
