Stephen Anthony Hancock

Celebration of Life Services will be held at Noon Saturday September 28, 2024 at Dunbar Funeral Home – Devine Street Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 11:00 am until Noon at the funeral home.

Stephen was born in Jamaica Queens, NY on September 9, 1989 the third child and only boy to Tanja D. Warters and Charles E. Hancock. He was a fun loving child and an all-around delight to be around. His warm and caring nature transitioned to adulthood and was highlighted in the love that he had for his three children. His position as a father grounded and prepared him to climb the ranks through his career within Corrections.

To know Stephen was to love him, especially for his comedic nature. He enjoyed fishing, playing video games, going to the gun range and most of all spending time with his children, family and friends. His enigmatic presence and smile lit the dimmest of times and he will be forever revered as a source of joy in our family.

Stephen is predeceased by his son, Adonis McClary-Hancock. Those left to cherish his memories include his mother, Tanja D. Warters, his father, Charles E. Hancock; three sisters, Sherri, Shana, Shiann; his daughter and jewel, Pharrah Jordan McClary-Hancock and his twin, Jahlani Apollo McClary-Hancock with his girlfriend, Coleen McClary, a host of nieces, nephews, close friends and his Work Team who he held in high regard.
