Shelley Hargette Stewart

Surrounded by her loving daughters, Shelley Hargette Stewart, 85, of Columbia, South Carolina, went home to be with her Lord on December 14, 2024. She was born November 9, 1939 in Wingate, NC to the late Shelton Curtis and Margaret Hargette. She graduated from Wingate High School and attended Wingate University. The family moved to Columbia, SC in 1970 where Shelley worked as a Dental Office Manager.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Richard Lee Stewart. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Kelley Stewart, Amanda (Ken) Riddle, and Nanci (Philip) Trevathan; her 9 grandchildren, Anna (Ben) Smith, Dustin (Brandi) Riddle, Meagan Bowman, Codey (Taylor) Riddle, Breah (Edwin) Taylor, Wesley (Alexis) Koon, Blake Koon, Madison Trevathan and Ayden Trevathan; 10 precious great grandchildren, Bentley, Emsley, Addie, Harrison, Louise, Madi, Maeson, Jaxon, Easton and Collins due in January; and her sister, Lucretia “Crick” Carpenter.

The family will receive visitors 11:00 am - 1:00 pm on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Dunbar Funeral Home, 3926 Devine Street. A graveside funeral service to honor Shelley’s life will follow at 2:00 pm at Elmwood Cemetery, 501 Elmwood Avenue.
