He was born June 13th, 1950, in Florence, South Carolina, son of Mason Hartstene Hubbard and Bernice C. Hubbard. He is survived by his wife, Amy Dasher Hubbard, his son, Christopher Hart Hubbard (Julia), his beloved 3 grandchildren (Mason, Madeline, and Morgan), his brother, William C. Hubbard (Kappy), sister, Ann Church (Ernie), and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Survived as well by Mrs. Pearl M. Crawford, a vital part of his childhood and later years.
As a youth, Hart loved sports, shagging to beach music, and fishing off the pier at Windy Hill beach. He graduated from McClenaghan High School, and received a degree from Charleston Southern University, where he played golf, and was a member of the Tau Kappa Alpha fraternity. Hart served his country by enlisting in the National Guard.
After graduating from college, Hart began a lifelong career in the Insurance industry and continued to work until his passing. He developed his expertise in catastrophic property claim losses and worked in the insurance industry for over 50 years. He was Vice President of Catastrophe Services for GAB Robins, as well as Cunningham Lindsey. He also served as AVP of Claims and Business development for ICA, a division of Brown & Brown.
On the personal side, he found time to continue his passion of golf which he started at a young age. A member of the Windermere Club in Blythewood, Hart and his wife developed lifelong friendships and enjoyed many rounds of golf. Hart was very proud of his 3 hole-in-ones in the last 4 years, as well as experiencing his lifelong dream of playing golf in Scotland at St Andrew's and other courses.
Hart will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 6th from 2 to 3 pm with a Memorial service beginning at 3 pm at Dunbar Funeral Home, Northeast Chapel, Columbia , SC.
