Mary Margaret Whitlock

IRMO – Funeral services for Mary Margaret Whitlock, 95, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Union United Methodist Church, Irmo, SC. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. prior to service at the church. Memorials may be made to Northbrook United Methodist Church, 11225 Crabapple Road, Roswell, GA 30075 or Union United Methodist Church, 7582 Woodrow Street, Irmo, SC 29063.

Mrs. Whitlock was born August 12, 1917 in Edinburg, IN and passed away on October 16, 2012. She was the daughter of the late John and Myrtle Talbert. Mrs. Whitlock was a Real Estate Broker who loved to travel. After retiring from real estate she worked with her daughter in the children’s clothing business. She was an outstanding seamstress and known throughout her family for her homemade noodles. She was also a very active and devoted member of Northbrook United Methodist Church in Roswell, GA.

Mrs. Whitlock is survived by her husband, Lawrence Whitlock; children, Joy Downs of Irmo, Dan Whitlock of Roswell, GA; daughter-in-law, Gloria Whitlock; grandchildren, Jay Downs, Randy Downs, Brian Whitlock, and Daren Whitlock; great-grandchildren, Scott Downs, Jon Downs, Casey Downs, Jake Downs, and Amy Whitlock, also many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Whitlock was predeceased by her twin brother Martin along with three other brothers, three sisters and an infant sister.
