Marvin William Holt

PEACHTREE CITY - Mr. Marvin W. “Joe” Holt passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017. Joe was a veteran of World War II, having retired from the U.S. Army after 21 years of service. After his military service, he was employed with Norfolk Southern Railway, where he also retired after 18 years of service. He was predeceased by his first wife, Peggy Edens Holt, and in-laws, James and Margaret Edens. He is survived by his wife , Ruth Story Holt; children, Joanne Holt Ellis and her husband, Craig, of Aiken, James Holt and his wife, Barbara, of Chantilly, Va., Douglas Holt and his wife, Robin, of Evans, Ga., Amy Stewart of Birmingham, Ala., Larry Daniel Stewart and his wife, Debra of Perry, Ga., Matt Stewart and his wife, Julie, of Marietta, Ga., James Stewart and his wife, Donna of Peachtree City, Ga.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joe’s family wishes to express their love and appreciation to Ashley Glen Assisted Living Facility in Peachtree City, Ga. and Golden Age Home Health Care in Fayetteville, Ga. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Parrott Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Columbia, S.C. with Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, handling the arrangements.
