Margaret Owings Blank

Born on February 12, 1940 in Greenville, SC, Margaret was the daughter of the late Archie Lee Owings and Myrtle Stewart Owings. She was predeceased by her husband, Konrad Chris Blank, and her brother, William Stewart Owings.

Margaret is survived by her two children, Stewart Jones (Dea) of Columbia, Tempie Bowers (Joe) of Columbia, a grandson, Anderson Bowers of Columbia, a niece, Allison Meredith of Greenville County as well as numerous cousins.

Margaret graduated from Greenville High School and Greenville General Hospital School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse for over 25 years working in the Emergency Room at Greenville General Hospital, a doctor's practice and as a Plant Nurse with Milliken Judson Mill. Margaret joined her husband Chris in his business, Creative Framing, for the last 15 years of her working career.

A longtime fan of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks, Margaret was very proud that both of her children and their spouses as well as her grandson are graduates of the University.

Margaret grew up in the Methodist Church and was a longtime member of Triune UMC and several other UMCs in Greenville. After relocating to Columbia in 2007 to be near her family, she joined Living Springs Lutheran Church where she participated in the Women's Bible Study and the Children's Backpack Ministry.

A Memorial Service celebrating Margaret's life will be held 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Living Springs Lutheran Church. The family will receive guests immediately following the service.
