Joseph Quillian Tuck, Jr.

LEXINGTON - A funeral service for Joseph Quillian Tuck, Jr., 71, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, 3926 Devine Street, Columbia, SC with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Tuck died Tuesday, January 9, 2024. Born in Augusta, Georgia on December 7, 1952, he was a son of the late Joseph Quillian Tuck, Sr. and Elizabeth Chapman Tuck. A 1972 graduate of Eau Claire High School, he worked for almost 30 years at Bonitz Construction. He won gold medals in swimming in National and International competitions for the Special Olympics. For many years, he was active in annual fundraising for Carolina Children’s Home and restoring houses in the Summer program for Salkehatchie. He was a member of Action Club of Sandhill (Kiwanis), serving as President and other offices. Joseph was a member of Trenholm Road United Methodist Church, where he served in the Sunday church office for 45 years.

Surviving are his sister, Jeanne Tuck Peckham; niece, Allyson Reed and her husband Timothy Reed; and his grand nieces and nephews, Hannah Reed, Lauren Reed, Timothy Reed, James Reed, Levi Reed, Eliana Reed, John Luke Reed, Natalie Reed, Esther Reed, and Knox Reed.
