John "Carlisle" Carlisle Kelly

COLUMBIA - John Carlisle Kelly, 18, died Thursday, May 27, 2021. Born in Greenville, SC, he was the son of Donna Shealy Kelly and the late Charles Richard Kelly. A graduate of A.C. Flora High School, he completed the International Baccalaurate program and was a member of the Cross Country and Soccer teams. After high school graduation, he planned to attend the University of South Carolina to study Electrical Engineering. Carlisle loved playing soccer, skateboarding, and playing guitar. He attended Camp Gravatt, an Episcopal Residential Youth Camp, as a youth camper and later as a camp counselor. Carlisle will be remembered for his strong sense of humor, a team builder, and for his sincere and compassionate nature.

Surviving are his mother, Donna S. Kelly of Columbia, SC; grandmother, Joanne Shealy of North Augusta, SC; aunt, Melinda Burckhalter (Kenny) of North Augusta, SC; uncles, James Kelly (Kathy) of Greenwood, SC, and John Kelly (Nona) of Greer, SC; and numerous cousins.

In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, John and Theresa Kelly, and his grandfather, John W. Shealy.

A private memorial service will be held at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.
