Frederick Charles Asmer Sr.

Fred was born on September 19, 1949 and passed June 10, 2024, surrounded by his children. He was the son of the late Albert Joseph Asmer and Emma Marsha Asmer and predeceased by his loving brother Albert Asmer Jr.

He is survived by his wife Kathy S. Asmer, his son Frederick Charles (Chase) Asmer Jr. (Sara Chandler Bowie) his two daughters Regina Soriano (Sherwin Soriano), and Jennifer Burgess (Andre Burgess); grandchildren; Preston Frederick Soriano, Sierra Soriano, Ashleigh Dunlap, Nicolas Burgess, Victoria Burgess and 6 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his six siblings including brothers, Norman Asmer (Lisa Asmer), Anthony Asmer (Sarah Asmer), Pete Asmer (Yvonne Asmer), Charles Asmer, Johnny Asmer, his sister Christy Asmer Yarborough and 16 nieces and nephews.

Fred began his career in the family wine business with his father at Asmer’s Wine Cellar in Columbia, SC and went on to work for Better Beer and Wine in Myrtle Beach, SC. Over the years, he had various entrepreneurial ventures focused in the food and beverage industry, including multiple convenience store locations and furniture stores. Throughout his career he took great pride in supporting and enhancing the communities in which his businesses operated. His dedication to his work was matched only by his love for his family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children's Hospital and St. Joseph Catholic Church.
