COLUMBIA - Mrs. Colleen Moore McNeill Golden, wife of the late Wayne Harris Golden, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014. The Rosary will be recited on Monday, September 29, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with visitation following until 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial for Mrs. Golden will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3600 Devine Street, Columbia, South Carolina 29205. Final Commendation and Farewell Prayers will follow immediately in the Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, South Carolina 29229. Mrs. Golden was born in Red Springs, North Carolina and was the daughter of the late James Dixon McNeill and Rosa Smith McNeill Snow. She was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of the St. Joseph Women’s Society. She was a Department of Army Civil Service Employee for many years. Survivors are her daughters: Kelly Jean Golden of Columbia; Phyllis R. Wooten and her husband, Alan of Boykin, South Carolina; grandchildren: Claudia Colleen “Tae” Russell Laney and her husband, Michael of Boykin, South Carolina; Thomas W. Russell, III and his wife, Cristin of Sumter, South Carolina; Patrick James Ferri, Jr. of Charleston, South Carolina; Alan Wooten, Jr. and his wife, Shannon of Boykin, South Carolina; Justin Wooten and his wife, Michelle of Rembert, South Carolina; Caroline Shaw and her husband, Troy of Charleston, South Carolina and Sandy Cullen and her husband, J.P. of Greenville, South Carolina. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren: Porter Colleen and Hudson Anne Laney; Hayley and Lane Russell; Madison Judy; Walker, Noah and Lucy Cullen; Mac and Blake Wooten; Julian Wooten; and brother, J.D. McNeill of Huntington, W.Va. She was predeceased by her husband, Wayne H. Golden, Sr.; son, Wayne H. Golden, Jr.; sisters, Ruth Horne, Dixie Miller, Texora Moore Elizabeth Hinson; and a brother, Rochelle McNeill.
