Clarence Emory George Jr.

COLUMBIA – A memorial service for Clarence Emory “Bud” George, Jr, 82, will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, June 22, 2014, at, Caughman-Harman Funeral Home on Bush River Road in Columbia, officiated by Mark Bredholt. The family will receive friends following the service.

Mr. George passed away Friday, June 20, 2014. Born in Albany, Georgia, he was the son of the late Clarence Emory George, Sr. and Lillian Gill. He graduated from Southern Tech in Atlanta, Georgia and retired from AppleBee-Church, Inc.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Efird George; two sons, Sid George (Cappy), Walter George (Candy); his daughter, Betsy Stephens (Dave); grandchildren, Mary Sydney George, Casey George, Drake George, Lauren Stephens Lavigne (RJ) and Molly Stephens; two sisters, Frances Evans and Ann Smith (George). Mr. George was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Fordham.

A family burial will be held at a later date in Albany, Georgia.
