Mark and I were so sorry and stunned to hear of Charles passing. Our hearts and prayers go out to Melissa, Ann Claire and Emma. Praying for you all.

Charl, was an amazing community leader, father and Husband. A huge loss to us all.

I had the pleasure of working with Charl as he and Melissa's cruise booking agent.  I was very sad to hear the news.  He was always so kind and pleasant to work with.  My heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to Melissa and the rest of his family as well as his friends.

I'm in shock this is a huge huge loss for our community this is one of those times where words are just not adequate. Charl served on the Board of Directors of the Columbia City Ballet for many many years.  He was always the word of reason,wisdom,and expertise.  He wasn't afraid to tackle those tough issues , but always with a glimmer in his eye and that dry humor .What a huge loss for our community.May his family know how greatly he was treasured and love.

I worked with Charl while at FCCS.  I appreciated his deep knowledge of the Farm Credit System and the time he always afforded me every time I visited the Bank!

Charl was my 1st cousin.  My fondest memories of him were that he was always such a gentleman, so kind, so thoughtful.   He loved his Mother, Daddy & sister so much! He was a wonderful family man, a devoted husband & father.

I remember the day he took off work to take his mother to the nursing home in Loris to visit with her sister,  Lula Mae, who was near death. It meant so much to Aunt Betty & especially my Mother.  I recall how he lovingly took care of his mother that day.

I extend my condolences to his wife & children during this difficult time

I WORKED WITH CHARL FOR OVER 30 YEARS AND NEVER HEARD HIM SAY A DEROGATORY WORD AGAINST ANYONE.  CHARL WAS TRULY A GENTLEMAN , EXCELLENT CO-WORKER  ,AND FRIEND.

I was so sad to hear the news of this tragic accident that took Charl's life way too soon. I remember meeting Charl & Melissa after the auction where we all bought our Vista condos, at The Lofts At Printer's Square. They were delightful and fun neighbors. I recall an impromptu progressive happy hour one holiday season with The Butlers spur of the moment knocking on my door.  How fun! And also some lovely get togethers in their beautiful penthouse condo. 
 I felt so lucky to live in a building with people like them.  I remember Charl being gracious, gregarious, and very quick witted! He was such a brilliant man. I admired him and enjoyed the times we all socialized as neighbors. Wishing Melissa and all of your family peace and comfort. The information on Charl is tragic but he was pursuing his love of new experiences, sights and sensations with you. Rhoda and I know you will miss his full-of-life presence.  We extend condolences.

I was honored to work  with Charl on many Farm Credit System work groups. We always made sure to sit with each other.
