COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Betty Ann Stanley Parris, 83, will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. prior to the service. Mrs. Parris died Sunday, August 21, 2016. Born in Marion, she was a daughter of the late Foster Brown and Mollie Pace Stanley. A graduate of Limestone College, she retired from the University of S.C. following more than 30 years of service. She was a member of Shandon Baptist Church and the Faith Sunday School class. Surviving are her son, Kent Parris (Sylvia) of Winnsboro; daughter, Leigh Ann Barnett of Columbia; grandchildren, Morgan Mobley (Chris), Lindsay Cook (Blake), Kasey McCarty (Mackenzie), Jordan Parris, Nicholas Barnett; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, P.E. “Buddy” Parris; two sisters, Mary Pace Proctor and Jacque Hilton; and a brother, Foster Stanley Jr.
