Walter D. Hitt, age 98, of Birmingham, Alabama passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2024.

Mr. Hitt was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Thurman Hitt; parents, Fox Ezra Hitt and Eula Sanford Hitt; sister, Margaret Robbins Fortenberry; and brothers, James Robbins, and Robert Hitt. He is survived by his son, Lewis Hitt; daughter, Barbara Hitt Zary; three grandchildren, Casey Hitt Guffey, Lindsey Hitt Fussell, and David Zary; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

A graveside service, officiated by Reverend Mark McArthur, will be held Sunday, November 17, 2024 at 1:00 PM at New Bunker Hill Cemetery, Columbia, MS.
