Terry Wayne Riley, Sr. of Mobile, Alabama, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at the age of 71. He was born in Columbia, Mississippi to Sammie and Dorothy Riley as the oldest of eight children and has been a resident of Mobile for the past 25 years. Terry was a second generation lineman who traveled and worked all over the United States. With deep roots in Marion County, he maintained his lifelong membership at Enon Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. Terry was an excellent marksman who enjoyed many hours at the shooting range and participating in shooting competitions. He was friendly, outgoing, and easily made friends everywhere he went. Terry had a great sense of humor and will be remembered for his generous, giving nature who would help anyone in need. Family was his highest priority and he was the loyal family member who always called to check on everyone.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Wanda June Riley; and his wife, Terri “Tiny” Riley. Terry is survived by two sons, Terry Riley, Jr and Solomon Riley (Rachel); four sisters, Judy Bond (Tommy), Carolyn Riley, Nora Broom (Kenneth), and Janeice Baughman (Tommy); two brothers, Michael Riley (Diane) and Carroll Riley (Tammy); two grandchildren, Taylor Miller (Austin) and Dixie Riley; two great-grandchildren, Sophia Miller and Walker Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation for Terry at Colonial Funeral Home from 6:00pm until 9:00pm on Thursday, July 1, 2021. The funeral service, officiated by Brother Everette Broome, will be in the funeral home chapel at 11:00am on Friday, July 2, 2021 and friends may visit from 8:00am until service time. Burial will follow in Enon Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew Riley, Harold Riley, Benjamin Riley, Keith Bond, Travis Bond, Michael Broom, Bradly Baughman, and Colby Baughman. Brandon Bond and Denny Dunn will be honorary pallbearers.
