Ms. Sylvia Thompson, age 77 of Columbia, MS passed away Monday, September 14, 2020 at Columbia Rehabilitation and Health Center. She was a longtime resident of Columbia and was of the Pentecostal faith.
Ms. Thompson was preceded in death by parents, Buford Thompson and Mary Elizabeth Yeager Thompson. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Hamilton and her husband Terry of Oak Vale, MS; her son, Ray Oswalt and his wife Teri of Brandon, MS; a brother, Carlie Thompson and his wife Nancy of Florence, MS; eight grandchildren, Kristy Robbins and her husband Randall, Jacob Cook and his wife Kristen, David Cook and his wife Allison, Carley Carter and her husband Alex, Blace Hamilton, Justin Oswalt and his wife Amanda, Corey Oswalt and his wife Kayla, and Colby Oswalt and his wife Chelsea; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services for Ms. Thompson will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Colonial Funeral Home, 323 Second St., Columbia, where family will receive friends from 9:00 AM until service time. Reverend Brian Stewart will preside over the service and interment will follow at New Bunker Hill Cemetery assisted by Justin Oswalt, Corey Oswalt, Colby Oswalt, Jacob Cook, David Cook, and Kaleb Van-Norman as pallbearers.
