Kathy Ann Valdez, of Foxworth, Mississippi, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the age of 57. Kathy was born in Columbia, Mississippi to Clyde and Adrene Graham and has remained a lifelong resident of Marion County. She was blessed with a wonderful childhood, growing up among her cousins and siblings. She lived life to the fullest and was happiest when surrounded by her family, her beloved dogs and especially her grandchildren which she adored. She loved fishing, cooking out on the weekends with her family and friends, and sharing laughs while catching up and reminiscing about old times. Kathy will always be remembered as having a heart for helping others, no matter what the need.
She was preceded in death by her husband Pedro S. Valdez, Jr.; a step-daughter, Dawn Carpenter; her father, Clyde C. Graham; niece, Jennifer Davis; and great-niece, Emmaleigh Hilburn. Kathy leaves behind two sons, Eric Sims and Justin Sims (Charmane); two step-sons, Pedro “Pete” Valdez, III and Chico Valdez (Lori); and nine grandchildren, Payten Holmes, Mariah Sims, Maria Sims, Kermarieon Sims, Calise Ratliff, Kaden Carpenter, Caleb Valdez, Chantel Valdez and Bella Valdez. She is also survived by her mother, Adrene Graham; sister, Tonya Thornhill; and brothers, Randall Graham, Clinton Graham (Gail) and Cory Graham (Josie); and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation for Kathy at Colonial Funeral Home on Sunday, February 18, 2024 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. The funeral service, officiated by Reverend Max Campbell and Reverend Soloman Evans, will be in the funeral home chapel on Monday, February 19, 2024 at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Victory Cemetery assisted by Aaron Graham, Laine Graham, Anthony Graham, Marcus Romero, Wesley Toney, and T.J. Martin serving as pallbearers.
