Billy Wayne Baughman, of Columbia, Mississippi, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the age of 74. He was born in Columbia to William and Maudie Baughman where he has remained a lifelong resident. Billy was a graduate of Hub High School, attended Pearl River Community College and studied engineering at The University of Southern Mississippi. He was a successful road and bridge professional and retired in 2015 after many years of working in the road and bridge construction industry. Billy was devoted to his family and will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He served his community and his Lord through his membership with East Columbia Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Martha Baughman; two daughters, April Grayson and her husband, Phillip and Laurie Baughman; three sons, Stephan Baughman and his wife, Elsa, Randy Baughman and his wife, April, and Alan Baughman; three sisters, Annette Martin and her husband, Carey, Betty Lou Bounds and her husband, Mike, and Vera Boyd; eleven grandchildren, Brandon Baughman, Benji Baughman, Sydney Baughman, Hunter Baughman, Will Baughman, Cody Baughman, Brittany Baughman, Ben Baughman, Alex Grayson, Samuel Grayson, and Chase Grayson; two great-grandchildren, Blain and Ella; and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a visitation for Billy at Colonial Funeral Home from 5:00pm until 8:00pm on Wednesday, January 27, 2021. The funeral service, officiated by Reverend Kenny Peavey and Reverend James Bell, will be at 11:00am on Thursday, January 28, 2021 in East Columbia Baptist Church. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00am until service time. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery assisted by Ben Baughman, Will Baughman, Robby Speights, Mark Landon, Randy Beets, and Henry Graham serving as pallbearers.
