Sharon Ann (Turner) Vick entered her eternal home on Saturday, January 1, 2022 with her daughter Jennifer and sister Roxanne by her side after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Sharon was born November 9, 1946 to Thomas and Dorothy (Sabin) Turner at University Hospital in Columbia, MO.
After the family moved to St. Louis, Sharon graduated from Incarnate Word Academy in June of 1964. Following her graduation, Sharon drove her VW beetle out to Colorado, where she then resided for several years. In 1974, Sharon and George Morgan welcomed their daughter Jennifer. They shared many good family memories while living in the beautiful mountains of Colorado. Both Sharon and George worked at the Molybdenum Mine. She then moved to Utah for a few years and worked as a teacher at Jennifer’s elementary school. In 1986, she returned to Columbia, MO to be closer to family. She then began to pursue her degree in nursing, ultimately receiving her Associates of Science Degree in nursing from Central Methodist College in May of 1988. Sharon’s career allowed her practice nursing at several hospitals such as Ellis Fischel Hospital, Charter Hospital, PACU at Boone Hospital, St Mary's Hospital in Jefferson City, and at University Hospital in the Neuro ICU, until her retirement in November 2012. Sharon was a loving free-spirited person and often while conversing, she would break out in song to finish her conversations. She loved to dance, sing, read, walk the MKT trail, and hike in the mountains of Colorado. Above all else, Sharon loved her daughter, Jennifer and her husband George, and adored her two grandchildren. She lived for visiting them and would come back to tell and retell stories of the kids. Sharon also loved to travel. Her traveling companions were usually her nephew, Michael and niece, Kristen. Sharon loved her family and always wanted to be around them, never missing a chance to jab at them.
Services will be held at Memorial Funeral Home on January 16, 2022 with visitation from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm with funeral services beginning at 1:30. Burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Sharon is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (George) Harenberg; grandchildren, Lindsay and George of Golden, Colorado; sisters, Karen (Warren) Harms and Roxanne (Todd) Gentry; brothers, Tim (Lori) Turner, Todd Turner, and Brian Turner all of Columbia, MO; as well as many nieces, nephews, a great nephew and niece, and many friends.
