Sharon A. Herbert

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Memorial Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors.

Sharon was born on May 7, 1940 the daughter of Floyd James and Jane Ann (Watson) Newsom. Her father preceded her in death and her mother survives of Phoenix, AZ. She was married on May 14, 1960 to Phillip “Mick” Herbert who survives of the home. She served in Women’s Army Corp from 1959-1960. She was a life member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary in Columbia, MO and charter member of Women in Military Service for American Memorial Foundation in Arlington, VA. In her spare time she enjoyed playing bingo and poker.

Sharon is also survived by one son, Michael Sean (Sandy) Herbert of Hartsville, TN; one daughter, Deborah (Edward) Dixon of Doha, Qatar and Sunrise Beach, MO; three sisters, Sue Newsom, Patricia Bari and Debbie Jones; three brothers, Wally Newsom, Jimmy Newsom and Tony Newsom; seven grandchildren, Brittany Johnson, Claire Dixon, Gus Dixon, Haley Herbert, Kaitlyn Herbert, Brandon Herbert and CJ Herbert; and one great grandson, Jessie Johnson.
