Martha was born December 5, 1928, in Callaway County to Paul Gilbert Holt and Nellie Ethel Blythe Holt who preceded her in death.
She was married to James Gilbert Morris on November 22, 1958, in Ft. Myers, FL. He preceded her in death on April 23, 1965.
She graduated from Fulton High School in 1947. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Fulton. Martha worked as a Switchboard Operator for Southwestern Bell for 11 years and Fulton Savings and Loan for 21 years, retiring in 1994. Martha was active in First Baptist Church and the Callaway Senior Center. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and rarely missed watching them play. Her greatest love was spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by: three children, Kathy (Doug) Roderick of Fulton, Gail (David) Collier of Fulton and Paul Morris of Lee’s Summit; step-daughter, Ellen (Jerry) Wogomon of Liberty, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Matthew (Tiffany), Benjamin and Kara Roderick, Ashley Stambaugh and Megan (Mason) Horstman, Stephan, Marisa, and Lexi Morris; step-grandson, Cody Collier; and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by: brothers, Roy Lee Holt of Madisonville, Ky., Bobby and Billy Holt of Fulton, Mo.; and sister, Wanda Randall of Fulton, Mo.
Martha was preceded in death by: her husband; her parents; brothers, PG, Ray and Donald Holt; and sister, Ruby Marshall.
A visitation will be held Friday, January 29, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church, 701 Court Street, Fulton, Mo. And the Celebration of Life will be Saturday, January 30, at 11:00 a.m., at First Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
