Gail Chance Martin

Gail Chance Martin, 81, of Wentzville, formerly of Columbia, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at St. Joseph’s West Hospital in Wentzville. Services will be Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Memorial Funeral Home with visitation, 10 AM-11 AM, Funeral Services at 11 AM with burial to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Gail was born on April 11, 1941 in Gladsden, Alabama the daughter of Bonner Victor Chance and Velma (Poole) Chance. She was united in marriage to Boyd Martin in 1980. Gail had 30 plus year career with the University of Missouri in the Gift Planning and Endowments Department. She was a person of deep faith and most recently a member of Wentzville Christian Church. She enjoyed playing the piano, going shopping and going out to dinner. She was devoted to her family. She went to all the children and grandchildren’s events. She made Christmas stockings for everyone in the family. She loved all holidays as long as they were spent with family.

Gail is survived by her children; Sherri (Andy) Bruckerhoff of Wentzville; Steve (Dawn) Fitts of Pickens, SC; Mike Martin; Roxanne (Billy) Melvin; Sandy Martin; her brothers: Victor (Kim) Chance; Randall (Ginny) Chance; her grandchildren: Christina Fitts; Kayti ( Brian) Howard; Dakota Fitts; Chance Fitts; Kennedy Bruckerhoff; Ashlynn Bruckerhoff; Grant Bruckerhoff; Michelle (Eddie) Threlkeld; Angela (DJ) Ryals; Justin (Amanda) Melvin; Leanne Sheets; Wendy Sheets; a host of grandchildren; great grandchildren; cousins; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Boyd Martin; one sister: Rebecca Chance; one son: Fred Fitts and one grandson: Joseph Bruckerhoff.
