Surrounded by family, Carolyn Lovena Roberson of Bland, Missouri was escorted by Jesus Christ to her FOREVER HOME (John 14:1-3) on December 17, 2022. She was born on June 19, 1944, in Greenway, Arkansas to Chester and Lovena (Jones) Fox. Carolyn was united in marriage to Wilbert Leo Roberson on August 11, 1962, in Owensville, Missouri, and to this union, three children – Kimberly (Kim) Michelle, Kevin Marshall, and Kristopher (Kris) Michael – were born.
In 1969, the family moved into the “Rock House” in Bland where Carolyn would spend the rest of her life raising her family and forming many lifelong friendships with her neighbors. Many of these friendships were formed during her time as a member of the Bland Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was an active participant for many years helping to organize the 4th of July Parades and the many Crafts Fairs sponsored by the Fire Department and Auxiliary.
Carolyn enjoyed working as Leo’s secretary at Amex Ltd. in Bland for many years. She also enjoyed her time as a cook at the Bland Schools as well as her time at Sangamon Greeting Cards and Walk Easy Manufacturing.
Carolyn’s devotion to God was demonstrated in her life calling as a faithful and dedicated Minister’s wife of 55-plus years. She served alongside Leo at Crossroads Baptist Church, Mt Pleasant Baptist Church (twice), Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, and Maranatha Baptist Church. Through the years, she taught the children’s Sunday School classes and made sure that Leo recognized mom’s and dad's on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day by presenting them with gifts that she had personally selected.
Carolyn will always be remembered for the fun times she shared with her family. From the infamous family vacation across Wyoming to her life-long love of playing games, especially with her grandkids and great-grandkids, she always left a smile on our faces.
Carolyn enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles, spending countless hours early in life putting them together on a card table set up just for that and then later online through Facebook, many of which she shared with her many friends on Facebook. Carolyn will also be remembered for her vast Coca Cola memorabilia collection.
