Rich grew up in Elmira, New York and enlisted in the Air Force in 1982. He served our country dutifully for over 20 years, living in several different locations and making many lifelong friends. After he left the military he settled in Maryland and went into a career as a government contractor.
Rich enjoyed traveling with family, being a Grampy, taking photos, and playing games. He was always talking with friends and strangers alike and cracking bad dad jokes. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and also the two family dogs who he spoiled rotten.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years Mary Marks, his son Daniel Marks (Paula) his daughter Sara Weaver (Rob) along with his three grandsons Damion, Brooks, and Brody. He is also survived by his brothers David (Kathy) and Michael (Jacqueline). He was predeceased by his mother Virginia Marks and brother Donald.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Fisher House Foundation or Toys for Tots.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 10 to 11am at Witzke Funeral Homes Inc., 5555 Twin Knolls Road, Columbia, MD 21045, followed by a visitation/receiving of friends from 11am to 1pm.
