Born on February 16, 1972, to loving parents, David and Pam Carney, Brett immediately filled the lives of those around him with joy. Brett graduated from Franklin High School in 1990 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business from the University of Colorado, Boulder. After college, Brett lived and worked in San Francisco for several years before returning to Colorado and ultimately back to Maryland to be closer to family.
In addition to his parents, Brett is survived by his brothers, Bryan Carney and his wife, Danielle, and Mike Carney and his wife, Melissa. Brett was a loving uncle to Nicole, Ben, Sarah, Josh, and Will and adored his family. He was also survived by his Aunts and Uncles, Margaret and Ron Kane and Glenda and Howard Carney. Also surviving is the family’s Labrador whom Brett loved and nicknamed ‘Baby’. Brett was passionate about fitness, biking, skiing, hiking, lacrosse and other outdoor activities. His presence is sorely missed and his loss is deeply felt.
Brett was a small business owner and entrepreneur. He was self-taught in computer technology and developed multiple digital platforms through his life’s work. Most recently he provided mobile fan experiences for several NFL teams. Everyone who knew Brett knew how funny he was. Brett was full of joy and humor and was deeply loyal to his family and friends.
