Sylvia Elizabeth Morton

Sylvia was born and raised in San Bernardino where she fell in love with the love of her life Carlos, Sr. at 12 years old. They married just a few years later. The two began to raised their family in San Bernardino prior to moving to Riverside 25 years ago. Sylvia was dedicated to her very large and constantly growing family.

Sylvia immediately followed her loving son Carlos, Jr. to their beautiful journey into Heaven. Sylvia is survived by her husband, Carlos, Sr., son, Donnie (Rocio), daughters Yolie, Marlene, Darlene (Jeff), daughter-in-law, Lydia, grandchildren, Donnie,Jr., Tony, Jazmin, Dario, Beto, Carlos III, Gabriel, Dorian, Fernando, Sammy, Aaliyah and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to a host of family and friends.

Sylvia’s husband is a member of Viejitos Car Club established in 1986. They loved to cruise in his ‘51 Chevy Deluxe lowrider custom built by her husband and their son Carlos, Jr.

Sylvia will forever be remembered by her big beautiful smile, deep dimples, her long dark hair. Sylvia loved each day to the fullest and quick to laugh, her laugh will continue to echo down the halls and in our hearts. She loved her family and would speak of her grandbabies to anyone that would listen. The grandbabies are perfect in every way, in her words. Grandma, Gaga, Grammy would do anything for her babies.

Sylvia was a proud Native American, from the Cahuilla Tribe, who loved to learn and share her culture.

Sylvia was a highly creative woman, always hand making gifts for others, no task was too big. She took her love of culture and creativity a step further and began instructing classes for Soboba Tribal Tanf, Morongo Tribal Tanf and surrounding Southern California Indian Reservations. Sylvia was very dedicated to her job at Riverside Community Hospital where she worked in the Emergency Department until she contracted and lost her life to COVID19.

Services for Sylvia will be at 1:00pm on Monday, March 8, 2021 at Montecito Memorial Park and Mortuary, Valley View Tent and will be laid to rest thereafter both at 3520 E. Washington Street, Colton, CA 92324.
