Robert Drew Mitchell, age 74, of San Bernardino, California passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023. Robert was a native Californian, having been born and raised in Temple City, California. He loved playing football and baseball for the varsity teams at Temple City High School.
After serving in the United States Air Force, Robert became a police officer at California State University, San Bernardino. While working full time, he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and then accepted an officer position with the Pomona Police Department where he rose to the rank of Detective. Following his resignation from the Pomona Police Department, Robert opened his own private investigation firm which he operated for over thirty years until he retired in 2016. During this time, Robert also became an ordained minister and was the Associate Pastor and then Pastor of the Calvary Assembly of God located on 40th Street in San Bernardino.
Robert met his wife Susan Dale Mitchell at their local church while they were kids and they were married for 48 years until Susan passed away in 2018. Robert loved his church, his wife, his family and golf. He will be deeply missed by his three sons Matthew, Mark and Chris, daughter in laws Beth, Christine and Michelle, his three sisters Judy, Penny and Rojean, eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 10:00am at the Montecito Memorial Park and Mortuary, Valley View Chapel and committal to follow thereafter next to his wife Susan at 11:30am at Montecito Memorial Park both at 3520 E. Washington Street, Colton, California
