He was born April 5, 1957 to Luis and Lupe Sosa in Torrance, CA. Dr. Richard A. Sosa graduated from Nogales High school in 1975. He served our country by enlisting into the United States Air Force in 1975 until being honorably discharged in 1978. He received his doctorate from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1989. He was married to his sweetheart, Bernice Sosa, on August 23, 1992.
Dr. Richard A. Sosa had a longtime career in chiropractic care for various offices in Southern California. In November of 2009, Dr. Sosa received certification as a Functional Capacity Evaluation Examiner and traveled all over Southern and Northern California, performing FCE examinations for medical providers.
Dr. Sosa was a family man who valued his freedom in Christ. He loved his wife, children and 13 grandchildren. Dr. Sosa was a multifaceted individual with many talents and pastimes. He enjoyed being a handyman and worked alongside his wife doing home improvements and landscaping his home garden displaying his “green thumb”. In his down time Dr. Sosa enjoyed watching sci-fi movies and old western movies with his wife. He had an extraordinary talent for all things tech/computers and even spent time “gaming”. He volunteered many of his years as videographer for The Ark church of the Nazarene’s Sunday morning services. Those that knew him only as Dr. Sosa knew he was especially gifted and talented as chiropractor. Knowledgeable in his field he made his patients feel well cared for. He was a personable doctor who would reach out to his patients outside of scheduled appointments to check on them and even enjoy conversation with them about life, politics and family. Often referred to as having “angel hands with a warm heart and smile” Dr. Sosa had a deep passion for his craft leaving all patients feeling whole.
He touched many lives with his kindness and his chiropractic hands. His candor and witticisms will be missed.
