I am sure everyone in this room has fond memories of Dad, Grandpa . . .Oshal, whatever he was to you. He was a very loving, caring man, he made sure his girls had food, clothing and no matter how tired he was, he made time to join in and play ball, ride bicycles, even played Double Dutch jump rope with them. He supported them in all their endeavors and always said how proud he was to be their dad.
He served in the Navy on the USS Iowa, now a museum in San Pedro. The girls were so proud the day they took "dad" to see his old ship. The museum welcomed him aboard with military honors, saluting and all. He was given a VIP tour. He had fond memories and shared his military stories with multiple strangers as he toured. Strangers wanted to have their picture taken with him. He was a true hero.
When he had to be hospitalized, he made many new friends. While there, he talked about how he raised his girls, about driving truck, moving household goods, about his military service. The hospital staff would come and sit and visit, they enjoyed his stories and the saying on the floor was "if you're having a bad day, go visit the man in 410." To him they were all pretty nurses, no matter what their actual job. He loved them all because they took good care of him. Even when he was home from the hospital, he would say tell the nurses I love them all.
He will be truly missed, but in everyone's' heart forever. Could not be prouder, he's my Dad.
