Oralia Gomez Vasquez

Oralia G. Vásquez, a life-long resident of Colton, passed away at her home on Friday, June 2, 2023, at the age of 98. She was born October 8, 1924 in Colton to parents Margarita and Refugio Gómez. She was preceded in death by her husband Manuel and siblings Luz, Charlotte, Antonio and Gabriel. She leaves behind her children Charles, Ronald (Anita) and Anne (Sam); her grandchildren Nevin, Sarah, Jennifer, Timothy and Pamela, and her great-grandchildren Joseph, Aleah, Kennedy, Liberté, Manuel and Daniel. She is also survived by her siblings Raúl, Ernie and Martha and sisters-in-law Rachel Newman, Natalie Gomez and Lillian Vasquez. She graduated from Colton High School in 1944.

Oralia was faithful to her religion and attended San Salvador and Immaculate Conception Churches in Colton. She was born in Colton and always had many memories of growing up and living in the barrio of South Colton. She loved her immediate family but also loved her extended family of many, many cousins.

Oralia was a homemaker who dedicated her life in caring for her husband, children and grandchildren.

Rosary for Oralia will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 10:00am followed by a Mass at 11:00am both at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1106 N. La Cadena Drive, Colton, CA 92324. She will be laid to rest thereafter at Hermosa Gardens Cemetery, 900 N. Meridian Avenue, Colton, CA 92324
