Larry Earl Stone was born in Baton Rouge, LA on May 18th, 1941 to the late Robert and Bessie Randall- Stone. Larry Stone quietly departed this life on January 30th 2021, the age of 79, from the comfort of his home in Moreno Valley California with his loving wife Matie by his side.
Larry was a graduate of Scotlandville High School in 1958, where he ran track. He attended Southern University, studying engineering. After attending college, Larry served in the Navy from 1960 to 1964 where he was discharged with honours. After moving to California he worked for the United States Postal Service for 36 years until his retirement in 2005.
Larry was a man of deep faith. He enjoyed reading scriptures and devotional books. He regularly attended church services when he was in good health, and was a member of Cathedral of Praise for almost 20 years. Larry was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed traveling, camping, and fishing. He loved watching sports and was a lifelong fan of the San Francisco 49s and Los Angeles Lakers.
Larry leaves to cherish his memory, Matie Stone, his devoted wife of 26 years. His children Tamika Wooten and Kimberly Johnson of Arizona from his first marriage with Shirley Abrham; Latoya Stone, Lauren Stone, and Larry Stone, Jr of Moreno Valley, CA, step-sons Lloyd and Lawrence Donerson from his marriage to Laura Stone who preceded him in death. His sisters Gererldine Dorsey, Keisha Stone-Dove, and brothers Ronald Stone of Baton Rouge,LA, and Donald Stone, who preceded him in death. His Step-daughter, Alicia Campbell-Rede, who preceded him in death, his chosen daughter Princess Robinson, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
