Jason T. Bell

Jason Tarel Bell better known to his friends and family as “Lil Jay, Jay or, J.T.” was born on March 21, 1993 in Riverside, California to Gabrielle Ashley and Christin Jason Bell. He later relocated to Arizona where he lived with his father and other mother Shalon Monique Bell.

Jay attended Bales Elementary in Buckeye Arizona and graduated “Class of 2012” from Copper Canyon High School.

He was known for the motto of “Family, Faith and Football. These three pillars were evident in his journey through life and as he played the game. First was his family, he enjoyed spending time with his family and nearly one year ago Jay obtained guardianship of his four younger brothers Ruman, Broderick, Dalante and Damont where he embraced the role of big brother, mentor, father figure and guardian. Secondly, was his faith, he attended church and believed in the power of God. Finally, he began playing football while attending Buckeye Union High School in 2009 where he played alongside his cousins. He continued his passion for the sport by joining the Arizona Football League as a wide receiver and defensive back for the King Leos and keeping with family tradition Jason only wore the #2 jersey. This was extremely important to him and he would not compromise.

Jason took pride in being self-sufficient and standing on his own he was also proud of the fact he was born in California and loved the “LA nightlife” this was made evident by the abundance of “We rollin down Crenshaw” selfies he and his girlfriend Madison would post on Facebook for all to see. Jay loved spaghetti and Grandma Bev’s famous red beans and rice and would never turn down a second helping. He was a stylish dresser and always incorporated his favorite color royal blue into his wardrobe, to see him not at his best was a rarity.

The one thing that everyone loved was his infectious “Million Dollar Smile” that lit up the room; however when things were not going in his favor he would subtly say “Ahh C’mon” “Really” and with a personality like that he was not to be denied. Everyone close to him knows he was notorious for ending every text, phone call, and goodbye with “I LOVE YOU.”

Jay’s future plans were to attend Arizona Christian University next fall with his brother Keiontae where he would further his education and football career.

He is survived by his mother(s) Gabrielle Ashley, Monique Bell and father Christin Jason Bell, brothers: Keiontae Bell, Ruman Richardson, Broderick Gaines, Dalante Gaines, Damont Gaines, Dezhaun Mc Nair, Kamren McNair and sisters Amaiyah Bell, Jayla McNair and his loving partner Madison Hutchinson, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, cousins and many, many, friends.
