Gary Lee Cowden

He was born February 16, 1943 in Riverside, California to Wilbur D. and Marguerite (Holbert) Cowden.

He was raised in Riverside and attended local schools, graduating from Polytechnic High in 1960. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Eddie Holbert Cowden.

In 1961 he married Karen Kingsbury and they had two children, Bobby Lee Cowden and Donny Ray Cowden. He worked in the Riverside/San Bernardino area his entire career working in auto refinishing, tire and auto parts, and lastly as a framing estimator for a framing company. Gary enjoyed his family, motorcycles, racing, and shooting with his best buddies.

Survivors include two sons, Bobby Lee Cowden and Heidi of Sandy Utah, and Donny Ray Cowden and Debra of Prescott, Arizona; two step-children, Brenda Walton of Riverside, CA and Brandon Walton and Anna of Lake Elsinore, CA., one grandson, Dalton Cowden of Loma Linda, CA.; eight step-grandchildren, and six step-great grandchildren; one sister, Marcia Clark and Jim of Lebanon, Missouri; his step-father, Robert Groat of Richland, Missouri; also nieces, nephews and many other friends and relatives.

Graveside memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Montecito Memorial Park, 3520 E. Washington Street, Colton, CA 92324. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Charter Hospice, 1012 E. Cooley Drive, Colton, CA 92324, 909-825-2969.
