With heavy hearts, we share the news of the peaceful passing of Donald Lee Walker on June 3, 2024 at the age of 87, surrounded by his loved ones at his home in Colton, California. Born on October 29, 1936, in Muncie, Indiana, he was the fifth of ten siblings to Eva Sarah and John Walker. Don's journey began at Muncie Central High School, graduating in 1953, where he excelled in basketball and track. He later started his own family, raising five children and adopting two with his cherished wife, Nora Walker: Debra, Dennis, Diane, David, Donny, Raymond, and Cynthia. Alongside seventeen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, he cherished his family deeply. Don's legacy extended through his successful construction company, D.L. Walker Sr. Construction, crafting exquisite homes and businesses across Southern California, including Fontana, San Bernardino, and Yucaipa. His beloved wife, Nora Mae Walker, passed away in August 2005 after 32 years of blissful marriage. In the years that followed, Terry Ann Helstad brought love, comfort, and joy to Don's life. In his leisure, Don found solace in fishing, golf, and tennis. Known for his hard work, reliability, and humor, he delighted in telling jokes, singing, and listening to The Beach Boys. His boundless love, support, and kindness will forever be remembered by his family and friends, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
A graveside service for Donald will be held Friday, August 2, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Montecito Memorial Park, 3520 E. Washington Street, Colton, California 92324.
