Terry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who brought joy and warmth to everyone around him. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 57 years, Ruby Sanchez; his beloved sons, Wesley and Denley; his cherished daughter-in-law, Pamela; his treasured grandchildren, Kelsey, Brycen, Brianna, Alfonso, Brendan, and Zeth; and his adored great-grandchildren.
Born on August 3, 1946, Terry graduated from Centennial High School in 1965 and went on to earn his barber license from Pueblo Barber College in 1966. He was the proud owner of Terry’s Hair Design since 1971, where he passionately served his community for over five decades. Throughout his career, Terry was a master barber who competed in the Colorado State hair cutting and styling contest in 1972, representing the state with pride in national competitions from 1972 to 1988. Terry's commitment to his craft extended beyond his shop. He served on the State Barber and Cosmetology Board under three governors and was a 16-year state champion. His expertise in hair coloring and styling was widely recognized, and he judged competitions across the country.
A man of many interests, Terry was an avid hunter, racquetball player, and golfer. He was instrumental in forming the Pikes Peak Racquetball Association, nurturing its growth to over 1,000 members, and promoting the sport at the Olympic level. Terry was also an active member of the Sunset Sertoma and Knights of Columbus. Terry was a dedicated usher at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, where his faith and community spirit shone brightly. He found great joy in being surrounded by family, friends, and customers, always ready to lend a helping hand. Known for his conservative values, Terry stood firm in his beliefs and worked tirelessly to uphold high professional and ethical standards in his field.
Terry is also survived by his siblings: Dale, Carl, Robert, Peggy, and Doreen. His legacy is one of love, dedication, and service. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
